The book is composed of 100 very short stories of Indian great leaders who had influenced through their ingenuity and perception. The tales of the leaders has been segregated on the basis of five parts that is The Royals, The Warriors, Rebels and Reforms, Spiritual Mentors and Living Legends.
The Royals section encompasses about the Kings and queens who ruled India mentioning from Akbar, the great to Razia Sultan, Delhi’s only lady sultan. The Warriors section talks about the brave fighters including the legendary Tantia Tope and the mention of Indian freedom fighters and renowned reformers was done in the Rebels and Reforms section.
Spiritual Mentors covers Indian spiritual influencers from Adi Shankaracharya, the father of Vedanta philosophy to Swami Vivekananda, the cyclonic monk from India.
Firstly, the leader has been introduced and then a random short snippet from his life recounting his creative and leadership skills is recounted.
The book reminded me of my school history lessons where I used to read about the Indian great leaders and their inspiring stories. I was also a keen reader those days where I used to read about Indian social reformers and how their policies brought positive change in the society. Honestly, I had already known most of the stories from the Royal and Rebel section of the book. But yes! the stories from the warrior section were new to me.
The book is a nice collection narrating fragments of extraordinary Indian leaders’ life which is inspiring and persuading.
