“Remember that wherever your heart is, there you will find your treasure.”

This is one of my favourite quotes of the book which inspires one to follow your heart with full audacity.

The alchemist is a story of young shepherd boy, Santiago who dreams of travelling the world and finding of treasure in the Egyptian pyramids. He then makes up his mind to follow his dreams courageously. During his adventurous journey, he encountered various people, different experiences, love of his life, an alchemist himself, pleasant and non-pleasant situations.

The story of Santiago teaches you wisdom, great life lessons and most importantly courage to follow your dreams.

The storytelling of the author is beautiful, simple and pleasing.

My favourite quotes of the book:

  • “Everyone seems to have a clear idea of how other people should lead their lives, but none about his or her own.”
  • “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
  • “The fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams, because every second of the search is a second’s encounter with God and with eternity.”
  • “The simple things are also the most extraordinary things, and only the wise can see them.”
  • “Don’t give in to your fears. If you do, you won’t be able to talk to your heart.”
  • “You must always know what it is that you want.”

I loved reading this book.
